So they aren't a give away, they can buy them for $80 if they get to to level 7? Why do I hear a hard thud?

I just pre-ordered, $63 for a MS69, first 50,000. So I have one. May still try to do a raw one of it's not too expensive.

Will wait and see. Pre-order opportunities for MS69 and MS70 examples are popping up like weeds on a low-end municipal golf course . . .I'm thinking any ASE devotee who feels this bullion version is necessary to complete their set will be able to get one. 500,000 pieces ought to be more than enough to meet the demand, right ?

This is a tough one. I'm probably going to want a raw one for my CAPS album (depending on price), but we'll see. I don't see any on pre-order on JMBullion. @Gilly have you gotten a response from them yet?

Quote: they're trying to make the coin hobbyist behave more like a card collector. That backfired massively in comic books back in the late 1980s and early 1990s. All the collectors cover variants and crossovers ended up burning out even the most diehard fans. If there is a nonstop parade of special issues, then nothing is truly special anymore, and people will stop caring.

Quote:Quote: If there is a nonstop parade of special issues, then nothing is truly special anymore, and people will stop caring. In the late 90s I tried to keep up with the high-end card parallel sets and that just became ridiculous when you had to collect 6-7 (or more) increasingly scarcer variants of the same card. I can recall one set that had something like 60 variants of each card (Topps Tek, I think it was). I still have unfinished sets that in my delusional brain I want to finish some day when the market calms down again. Again, I might try for this one but if it starts to go bonkers like comic books and baseball cards did, I'm out. No one seems to learn from the past... always an immediate cash grab.

Quote: @Gilly have you gotten a response from them yet? Sorry, yes I have. Pretty much acting ignorant and they can't predict the future, is what the replies were saying. I'm glad I have one ordered. Not a slab chaser, but it'll have the implied mm (even though they are all the same) and will be labeled "first 50,000". If I can get JM Bullion to sell a Mintsealed individual I'll still do it, and if they sell just a raw individual, I'll do that, then that's it If the privy issues continue, I'd probably make a separate display box, I'm not sure if I'll want these with my bullion set or not. They ARE bullion, I'll have to think about it

Brandmeister Stated: " If there is a nonstop parade of special issues, then nothing is truly special anymore, and people will stop caring. " I Too Agree with this . Let the Ole Coin Collector's Alone...... Leave the American Silver Eagles to the Collectors of The " Pre Hype ", We do Not Appreciate Using The ASE's as a Marketing Plot to target the Most recognized Coin in the World, To Hitch Along-side the ASE's, as to Create Another Future Bullion Collectible, I Think Not !!!!! The Fact the U S Mint's are Co-Joining other company's to sell " coins " Should be a Good Move for All, IMO They are Cheapening and Watering down the Glory and Recognition of The American Silver Eagles Program, or Any Other Well established Designed Medal or Coins that Have a Respectable Following, to Colorize, to use Privy marks, or Any other ....... People will Learn from the Past, As Mentioned Prior, I Always Try To.

"Hmmm, can you say "Cheerios" wannabe?"
The Cheerios variety was never advertised ahead of time.
I'm not sure how many years later it was discovered that "some" but not "all" of the dollar coins were different.

Inviting people to gamble on getting a better coin is such a sleazy move.

Sleazy, yes. It is, however, also quite similar to many loot box and random merge mechanics in current games.
