With all that damage it's strange the zinc isn't showing through and rotting.

Post strike damage--likely spent some time in a parking lot, yes. For the record, ' no mint' = struck at the Philadelphia Mint.

I'm with Marve - would expect more zinc showing if it were a 'parking lot' coin. But it does look like damage to me
Can you post up a close up of the area around the date?
