Well not a fake page, but home-brewed labeling on top of a blank nickel page?

I purchased this Dansco #7114 Page 2 nickel page off ebay and I instantly noticed that the labels for each coin slot using some adhesive material to apply them.

Also, the top of the page has "NICKELS" printed like a real Dansco page does (not pressd on letters), but normally it would be " Jefferson nickels" for this album, not just "NICKELS".

Finally on the binder side of the page, usually Dansco pages have the album and page # printed on it, this has nothing there.

To me it's pretty clear the seller took a blank generic Nickels page, custom labeled, and tried to pass it off as an album 7114 page 2.

I just wanted to confirm my suspicions here before I blow up this guys ebay. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

EDIT: I'm not going to fully name names here, but if you're buying Dansco stuff from a "Dude" on ebay, you need to be careful. It was my bad not reading the full description, but I didn't expect to have that issue on what should be a new product. But, at least the refund process was smooth.

Yes, it is a hand made page made exactly as you suspect.

The actual replacement pages have the page type along the edge between the post holes.

I looked up the item you're referring to on ebay. That page is custom-labeled and is clearly advertised as such in the listing title and description. I've actually purchased a custom Page 6 for the #7113 from the same seller. I've also messaged that seller for info about Dansco products and they've always been very helpful.

As it stands, Dansco has yet to release a labeled Page 2 for the #7114. Sorry to say, but there's no duplicity here. You should've done your homework first.

Well, thanks for not blowing up my ebay feedback lol

I make sure to state in the description and title that these are custom labeled pages. As stated in the description:

"This is a self-made page using a label maker on a Dansco blank page. The labels can be removed without damage to the page if desired.

This page is brand new and comes with original plastic slides"

I noticed a need for these temporary update pages to tide collectors over until Dansco catches up. Whenever Dansco releases their update page, I end my listing since it's no longer needed. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out anytime

FWIW, you could do what DanscoAlbumDude is doing yourself with a blank nickel page and a label maker with clear tape. I guarantee I personally could not get them affixed that straight nor get the labels cut so cleanly! I might even entertain going with DanscoAlbumDude's product and when Dansco does come out with a 7144 page 2, I could move the nickels over and peel the labels off for a 7144 page 3.
