Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm still really annoyed by the fact that Dansco, for the most part, doesn't include the 81 Type 2 proofs in their albums. I think the only album they actually do this is the SBA dollar album. I am thinking about sticking another US Mint Treasury token in the regular spot where the "81-S" is, and just adding both the type 1 and 2 proofs together at the end of the album. The last page is also a bit of an experiment.. As I'm not really sure how I want to lay it out yet. I also plan on upgrading a lot of the Memorial cents to BU, since they aren't the best looking. I feel that would definitely look nice next to the proofs, and most memorial cents can be had pretty cheaply in BU condition. I don't think I am going to be upgrading many of the Wheat cents, though.

Quote:I did exactly that. Quote: This one, like I mentioned previously, only has 8 pages and ends at 2007... Same as mine. Quote: I added a 9th page and uh, hrmm... Little bit overstuffed lol Yes, why I opted to start the ultra-modern album at 2008 to show a transition—last memorial cents, bicentennial cents, first and continuing shield cents. Looking good though!

Thanks, jbuck Idk... I could opt for a brand new, more modern 8100 album. I kinda don't really want to, though. I feel like Dansco's older albums are better quality. My 7100 album, which I can tell is also a bit older, has not had any issues with the pages coming undone or anything like that. A good way to tell if you have an older Dansco I've noticed is if it doesn't have a date on the front cover. I do kind of like the idea of adding the 2008/2009's into a separate album. Personally, I really like the 2009 coins.... But they kinda feel out of place IMO. If there was a way I could cut the album at 2008... That'd be ideal. Theoretically, I could do an album that consists of 2008, 2009 and then the Shield cents. But yeah I dunno... Shield cents are kinda meh to me. I'll play around with my albums when I get home and see if I can come up with something

Or, in theory, I could place the 2008 P, D and S coins in the spot just before the memorial cents on the last page of the wheats, as there are three open spots. However, I don't know. I like having the 3 variations I have there currently. If Dansco would have had the 1959 coins start there, there would have obviously been room at the end of the album.

Not like they knew it, right? Maybe three fewer 1982 varieties would have helped.

Yeah, I could definitely do without all the 82 varieties. I was able to find a "replacement" 9th page for the 8100 recently from Wizardcoinsupply. But, for some reason, it arrived all warped looking. Ugh. Guess I will be sending it back. For the amount of money I've spent, I could have just got a brand new 8100 album. So, I just decided to do that instead. I am going to be returning the previous, 8 page 8100 album that I purchased, along with the 9th page that I got recently. Man, OCD sucks. Lol. But yeah, I guess I probably should have just gone this route to begin with. I haven't gotten any proofs yet, but I look forward to shopping around for them. I think I'm going to try getting the majority of them from my LCS. Proofs, it seems, have a tendency to look different depending on where you get them from and how they are toned, if at all. Some ebay sellers use stock photos, and I'd like to try to keep all of them with the same look.

My complements to you on your accomplishments so far...what a challenge you have set for yourself!
I'll be following you progress.I sure wish we had run into each other a while back, a lot of "a while back". I gave away and /or sold pounds of wheaties!
This also reminds me of when I was living with my Aunt & Uncle in Wichita, KS back in 1957; we were poor and I sold donuts on Saturday mornings, fresh from the bakery, door to door to help out.
I didn't buy any pennies but gleaned them from circulation, had 31 nearly all of the earlier ones but not the 09S VDB! Really had some nice D's & S's.
One morning my aunt came to me and asked if she could "borrow" my pennies to go buy a loaf of bread....so there went my first attempt at coin collecting, all at 13 years of age!

Quote: just adding both the type 1 and 2 proofs together at the end of the album. I did something very similar too, but did not place token in the main pages.

Wow, yeah, I'd love pounds of Wheat cents! Awesome. Very interesting recollections. Thanks for sharing. I am expecting the new 8100 album today. I also recently ordered my first proof only... proofs. Lol. I'm expecting the 75 and 76 proofs within the week.
