I walked out with a stack of proof coins today from my visit to the local coin store. Can't believe these were all 2.00 dollars and under!

Unfortunately, when opening the 1980-S, it jumped out, and spun off somewhere. Evidently, it didn't want to be held prisoner.

This 77-S proof looks pretty bad. But, for 1.00 dollar, it can be a hole filler for now.

Quite annoyed that I can't find that 80-S now.

This page is almost complete.

After I have assembled all the proofs, my next phase will be to start "upgrading" coins. I still also plan on getting that 1914-D at some point, and a "weak D" 22 D variety.

Great additions. I would have to tear the room apart looking for where that 80-S went.

My wife found it, of course. It was, of course, on the floor, as I do all my coin type things generally at the kitchen table.

Why is it women can find things that men can't? Lol.

This coin isn't the prettiest sadly. But for 1.00 dollar, it'll do for now.

That's better

I also only have 20 proofs left to fill the S ports. That is, if you are not counting the 81-S type 2, which there is no port for. Then there is 21.

Thank, you EV I've given up trying to kind of keep them uniform in tone/color. I'm not gonna search all over for a specific one and I'll jump on one if it's a good deal.

I'm pretty sure they also had more proofs, these are just the ones I came out with.

No flag, no country. I mean, no hole, no coin. That is the rule.

Thank you, CoinForMe

jbuck, so when you have empty ports in your album, do you generally fill them with anything?

Now, it's odd, Whitman's album has a port for the 81-type 2 proof, unlike Dansco. However, they also have ports for the 1955 double die and the 1972 double die. I didn't even know this was a thing honestly. I knew about the 55, but not the 1972.

Their album also goes from 1909-1995. Then starts with a secondary album that has dated ports from 1996-2025 with a few slots leftover at the end.

Interesting.
