Looks like a vise job.. Note the reversed lettering and other devices.

Not an error. It looks like a vise job, someone impressed another cent upon it under pressure. Notice the backwards lettering. PMD.

If you do not agree, you can send it in for authentication and grading and any of the grading services will be more than willing to accommodate you and relieve you of some of your money!

The good news is that you are correct @shay that this oddity isn't a result of glue residue. As noted above, however, you have a vise job here and the coin is only worth face value.
