I think the HHOL being "one" on these releases is the best thing since the invention of the coin capsule. It keeps these sell outs from happening bullet fast. I think it may help collectors get a lot better sense of how popular the release really is, base on true interest vs how fast the coin flippers can gobble them all from the true collectors. It almost seems like the mint is purposely going to "remind me" status just to take a look and weed out people trying to circumvent the HHOL. It's just going to take some getting used to how this is all going to work.

Is there still a waiting room queue on items the Mint feels will sell quickly? I imagine this helps the collector more than the flipper.

I don't think they pre announce this, but I'm sure. The waiting room helped a little bit in at least keeping bots from flooding the mint website with orders. Better than the site crashing and booting legitimate collectors off. In addition, as I just stated, I also think the biggest help is the order limit being lowered to one.

I could not agree more. The HHOL of one is helping the collectors get coins as opposed to flippers. I wish the mint was that competent, but it's likely that it's just a reflection of how slow they are at the order validation process.

And I was just thinking, I bet this validation proves could really be handled by AI. I'm not some fan of AI, but comparing names, addresses, credit card holders, etc, I get it would weed out people on a hurry. And maybe they use AI, but want a human to check out the findings as well? It's all being summed up as a fiasco right now, but I try to be optimistic and think the mint is just fighting for the collector. These releases, anyone would admit, is definitely making it a situation where any collector who really wants a coin, should be able to get it, as long as they don't sit on the fence on release day very long. I know there were some issues with getting booted off the site and then the site saying they've exceeded the HHOL. That's been about the only negative I've heard.

Quote: So for those who are gonna "try to get one". Are you assuming a quick sell out? I don't believe so, for a few reasons: 1. As discussed above, the HHL of 1 2. The mint is diluting their own product. This will the 6th ASE of the year (including bullion) with two more to come. 3. For this one in particular, the subject matter has a lot of people scratching their heads, whereas the Army Privy ASE actualy means something to a lot of folks. Guessing a lot of people will see this one and just move on. Except for some of us completionists.

Yeah 8 ASE's in one year is a lot. Wonder what privy specials they have in store for 2026?!

As far as bullion, it's really hard to tell. For proof, we'll probably see the "250" as has been seen seen already, on ASEs. PS, we haven't seen a privy on an Uncirculated yet. Maybe next year?

Gah! My math is bad. Or my memory. Or both. Anyway, I can't edit my post above since it's been over 24 hours since I posted it but there are actually THREE more ASEs to come this year after the Laser (S-proof, Navy, Marines), for a total of NINE ASEs in 2025! Reinforces my point #2 above a bit. Quote: For proof, we'll probably see the "250" as has been seen seen already, on ASEs. Yeah I can't imagine there won't be something privied into certain ASEs for the 250th. I'm worried that I will need to borrow against my home equity to afford 2026.
