2007 Double Headed 5 Cent

It isn't impossible to have these coins made by accident USA minting is completely different and would be impossible to have this happen. But if Australian minting process is same as the UK which it most definitely is throughout history double headers have been found in circulation. Australia has 2 already listed in Renniks 1981 20 cent double obverse and 1977 2 cent double obverse. If it were me and I have done this before send the coin to the Australian mint and ask them what it is. S/A envelope inside so they can post it back. Found a few fake pounds and electroplated 1/2 pennies. No harm in asking. Human factor there will always be errors it's just we don't hear about them unless something leaks in to the public domain. Then all the announcements come out.

I think the RAM has stopped doing verifications. Also, there is the suggestion that these sorts of coins are concocted by unscrupulous mint staff.
