Wow. That is just painful. $5000+ for a silver dollar with large scrapes on both coin faces.

I don't like the toning. Not worth anywhere close to what it sold for, my opinion. My 1934 D AU55 DDO looks better I think.

Toning? That kind of colorful toning is rare on a Peace dollar. The problem is the damage - I don't think the toning should over grade the damage on this one!

Nice photos, Marve65. They, indeed, botched that one. The toning alone would have left me with reservations of that being real just from the start......and would leave me looking closer....and they missed those hits. PCGS should look for the buyer and offer to buy it back....only kidding but they should.

Buy-The-Coin,-Not-The-Slab:-A-Gallery-Of-Grading-Gaffes!

One I recently found searching ebay, item: 116470918658
You think they would be more careful on their own Vaultbox coins.

Marve65, I'm just saying I usually don't like toned coins regardless of the grade or rarity. To each their own.

I hear ya. I'd rather have a circulated Morgan or Peace than a BU toned example. But now a beautiful toned Wheat cent I'll take all the time.

Not sure what's wrong with the SLQ - Seems a legit MS coin just a light strike. Can't really tell from the picture if it is indeed a Full Head.

Vaultbox feels like the (daily) chef's special. Something they are just trying to get rid of.

Type 2 labeled as a type 1. Just thought it was funny that it was something they grade to sell themselves and still messed it up.
