I might be wrong about this rainbow MS64 nickel, but those scrapes and scratches on the high points sure look like circulation marks to me.

It would be nice to post the pictures instead of us doing the searching. Sorry, . But you kinda lose replies like that.
You have the "actual" coin photos then you have the "Glam Shot Photos" - whichever set they were graded from it still look like a pretty "chewed up" nickel. Not 64 to me but I'm not a grader - as a buyer I would never include that into my collection.

Ran across this coin on ebay. PCGS MS66 1976-S Silver business strike Kennedy half dollar. Pretty sure those are cellophane sealing machine marks on the rim.

This one is absolutely brutal. This PCGS attributed MS67+ Full Bands Mercury dime (cert #37520742) is top pop for 1942-S 10¢ Inverted S Mintmark FS-501. One teeny tiny problem: the coin has an ordinary Trumpet Tail mint mark. It isn't even a Serif S, let alone a rare inverted Serif S.

As listed, one would assume a $1500+ valuation on that coin, maybe more because it's too pop for a registry set coin. Real value is maybe a fifth of that amount or less.

Brandmeister, just goes to show you that even the TPG's screw up from time to time.

This thread certainly reinforces the need to educate yourself when purchasing coins vs putting 100% trust in the label. Great thread

A nice example of an MS65 nickel with Full Steps. Just don't look too closely at the mint mark down through ERICA. Looks like it was scraped by a Coin Wrapping Machine.
