I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this issue for me, please.

While compiling my collection list, I realised I have a few coins that according to The Royal Mint and other sites there were none minted in these years.

For example, in respect of the 2p coins I have 2p's for the years: 1982, 1983 and 1984, but apparently these were not minted.

I also have some 50p the same (different years)

Any ideas please.

to the CCF

There were 2 pence minted those years but could only be found in BU sets.
They were not meant for circulation.

Mintages
1982-205,000
1983-631,000
1984-159,000

There was also a Proof version released but can only be found in Proof Sets

While no 2 pence coins were minted for circulation, The Royal Mint did release uncirculated and proof sets for those years. So if someone broke up those sets, you could find the coins for sale or even in circulation.
