Paul Childs New Member United Kingdom 3 Posts	Posted 08/22/2025 10:41 pm Hi everyone I have come across these 2 old 20p coins ,one is 2008 and I think the other is 2017 but not 100% , they are very mishapen but the writing on the edges is the wrong way around the date and eliizabeth are at the bottom of the coin instead of the top ? As for the "writing on the edges is the wrong way around", this is normal for coins issued 2008-2015. Numista reference for comparison. They changed it when they changed the portraits from the IRB design to the JC design, and your coins definitely have the IRB portraits. So I suspect that while "2008" might be a correct reading for that coin, "2017" is the wrong reading for the second coin and it's actually something like 2012. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
