I've seen this coin listed for sale for awhile and it's in a PCI holder saying 1785 clipped planchet, which would be an extremely rare coin but it doesn't match what I've seen. I know PCI isn't legit, but would they actually let a dealer tell them to put 1785 on a coin that isn't? Can anyone actually identify what it actually is? I'm no expert. Thanks.

it's a 1787 DBL type; the '86 K reverse and the 1788 DBL's don't look like this

Bdic: fwiw: the 1785 Bust Left is a Mailed Bust, and again looks totally different. If you can, find-out what variety it is; some '87 DBL's looking worse than that but extra-rare (1-3 known) bring abt 10x their weight in Gold when offered

Looks to be a 33.17-gg.2 Which is a rarity 5 variety, so not too uncommon.

Thanks @lcutler, it does seem to match that variety. There's a couple really nice examples for sale on ebay so this one would be worth much less than those.

There are good Connecticut copper deals to be had on ebay if you keep watch for them.
