1900-O Barber Dime To Grade

I see the concern with the scratches. The circulation dings are OK, but the scratches behind the cap look like someone tried to remove gunk from the coin's surface. There are similar scratches above and especially left of and below ONE on the reverse. That probably would detail the coin.

That said, I think the underlying grade would make EF-40, so I'm at EF Details on this one. As details coins go, this one isn't bad.

I like the light circulation cameo.

I'm concerned by the scratches that fortcollins identified, so with EF-40 Details. It's certainly not the worst example you could get, but I would definitely pass on this. Even without the details grade, this coin is not very attractive due to the abundance of marks and hits. Look for a wholesome, problem-free example with nice eye appeal.

Eye appeal is lacking. I knew immediately from the style of the pictures that this was sold by Great Southern Coin.

They specialize in buying details coins in both holdered and unholdered off ebay and all the other usual auction houses and then flipping them advertising grades usually well beyond what they are.

They also have 20k or more followers, most uninformed and substantially over paying for coins.

I would return it for said reasons.

The coin sold for a strong auction price of $213.50. If you are the winning bidder, return the coin as it is over priced by about $100. If you are lucky, Great Southern Con will block you from bidding on their auctions in the future.
