So I grabbed this 1787 Connecticut because it looked different than others I was seeing. Mostly I was looking at the Magoo-looking head, but it just appears to be a distortion by damage. However the reverse shows liberty with a very low arm angle compared to others, under the "D" aligned with top of the "N". The only real match with that I could find is the M 37.2-k.5 R-5. I'm hoping that reverse might be instantly recognizable to someone out here. At least to get pointed in right direction if it's not what I'm thinking it could be. Thanks.

Bdlc: Hallmark of the k.5 reverse; it's also married to the 37.8 obverse die, a R5

OldGrouchyGuy: Yes, that was a main element I noticed fit very well. The other challenge learning to attribute and use overlays and such is that it is clear that the planchets themselves varied in size. So just lining up the edges with each other isn't enough cause the die doesn't care how big the planchet is. Many of those were struck on smaller planchets than the one I got.
