1866/1866 5c FS-306/F401 Finally Got Around To Getting This Variety Attributed.

oih82w8 Pillar of the Community United States 7840 Posts	Posted 10/07/2025 11:09 am I have had this Shield nickel for a while, unatrributed, and finally got around to getting properly recognized. I dropped it off at the NGC table when the Worlds Fair of Money was in town in late August. The attribution was accomplished rather quickly, probably because it is rather obvious, but getting it out the door and back into my hands is seemingly taking forever. Your coin show the "buckled reverse", where the die is collapsing to the right of the S (CENTS) and around the dot. This reverse was replaced (presumably because it failed), and the variety can be found without the buckled reverse. The buckled reverse is more available. Report this Post to the Staff
