I got these 2 CSA half dollars from a local estate sale. They were in a frame displaying obverse and reverse next to a printed paragraph about the 4 originals and the restrikes. I knew they were fakes but they were decently struck. When I took them out of the frame I saw that the rims were plain and stamped sterling. I've looked online and have seen plenty of fakes but couldn't find any edge stamped sterling. They remind me of some Franklin Mint issues. Does anyone have any idea who might have made these?

Maybe post them here?

Identification: Unidentified Coins, Medals, and Tokens

Folks here seem to find nearly everything.

If they are Sterling...I'd be tempted to dip them...but then again...I'm not a toner guy.
Cool pick up!
Good luck!

Couldn't say on the origin either, other than if it were from the Franklin Mint it should have the FM hallmark.

They're from 1947. C. Smith made a handful of others for so-called half dollars that year.
