Is it the lighting or is there a struck thru on Black Diamond's back?

The nickel had been in an album for about 25 years and had a "haze/frosty layer on it so I soaked it in pure acetone for about 24 hours. Thanks for your comments.

I have looked at it a few more times. It may appear to be polished, but that does not mean it is. That is, I can see how the lighting is fooling my eyes here and can accept it looks more impressive in hand.

Thank you jbuck. I have to admit that even in hand, the nickel looks almost proof. It is a well struck coin when compared to other 36 buffalo I have. Have a great day.
