I just won this fairly rare type that will probably be my last big purchase of the year. The reverse legend TEMPORVM FELICITAS translates as "Happy Times" and is a not so subtle attempt at some political propaganda. This coin was issued shortly after Maxentius went rogue and declared himself Emperor. Constantine was in an uneasy alliance with the other rulers -- Maximianus, Galerius and Maximinus II; so this type was also issued in their names. The "happy times" would not last long...at least for everyone besides Constantine.

@vic, I love the remnant silvering on this one. Do you find that Roman coins with a caduceus sell for a premium due to stronger bidding from clinician collectors?

Doctors definitely have more to spend than your average collector. The best works on the Roman mint of Lugdunum (Le monnayage de l'atelier de Lyon) also happened to be written by a doctor-- Pierre Bastien
