I think it's a nice coin, but $35 is probably a fair price for that variety raw at auction. Tropicalbats just recently sold a MS specimen of the Misplaced D for around $30. The variety was correctly hunted and identified, the coin was a reasonably nice example, and the collector that won the auction paid basically retail on the coin—suggesting that you were competing with another variety hunter who also knew it was a Misplaced D.
