Picked for the reference collection, a circulated example of 1943-S/S 10¢ FS-501. I haven't yet worked on determining die state.

I tried to check out markers, but there is just too much circulation wear to locate die scratches. The rim gouge to the left of AM does not seem present, although the Wexler notes say that it was abraded away in later die states. Probably the Stage E Cud or pre-cud would be visible, so I would assume Stage D? Probably impossible to say.
