Managed to find this 1992 Peter Fiddler silver token. These are scarce and hard to find in silver and yet in its original box. Regular nickel ones there were 5000 made.

Good looking token!

I'm not familiar with these...
I love the original packaging, especially the old school textured clamshell! Very vintage looking!
Tell me though...
What makes it a "1992"?
And
What does the dual date on it represent?
Looking fwd to the explanation.
How about a pic of the reverse?

1992-Peter-Fiddler-Silver-Token---Elk-Point-Alberta---Scarce

Peter Fiddler was a Hudson Bay explorer and Buckingham was a Fort on the river. 1792 - 1992 is the date on the coin.

Right on!
So the 1769-1822 on the obverse was his life then. Cool!
Without the reverse pic I couldn't tell it was a bicentennial hence the 1992 delineation.
The reverse pic really helped clear that up.
Very nice pick-up!

Sherritt mint

Confirmed. The hexagon-with-a-line-through-it symbol seen on the "999 fine silver" sticker inside the box is the Sherritt Mint mintmark. Sherritt Mint produced most of the Canadian nickel "tourist dollars" from the 1970s and 1980s, don't see as many of their pieces from the 1990s.

The token bears the "1992" date on both sides: on the reverse on the canoe, and on the obverse under the portrait; it's a little hard to read on the OP's pic but on the Numista nickel-plated steel example you can read that the text below the portrait says "Not Valid After Dec 1992".
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Until you pointed it out, I was all over the place.
