I'm putting the coins in a DIY coin album. Sorry if wrong forum, this was the best I could find! making each page is tedious, adding coins moreso, but its worth it! Working on state, america the beautiful and women quarters.

That's a fun DIY project! As a War Nickel enthusiast, I think you should add a slot for a 35% silver War Nickel (1942-1945) with a large mint mark above Monticello on the reverse.

It's unique, that for sure! How do you get the staples that far into the pages?

Quote: It's unique, that for sure! How do you get the staples that far into the pages? You know how you can staple paper to a wall? You do that but onto a surface like fabric or a mousepad so that the staple can easily be removed from it. A lot like how you can poke a needle into a shirt and it won't break,

All I use to make each page is 2 sheets of paper, tape, a ziplock bag (to protect the coins, I don't think they have PVC) and staples to make sure it doesn't fall out. Stapling far in is tedious but doable.
I'll organize it into sections with dividers I have like "Common denominations," "Dollars," "50¢ Pieces," "Presidential Coins," and "Other" for coins that aren't common but also don't fit in the other categories.
Generally speaking, the coins are all semi damaged, I would never use an uncirculated or high value coin in a project like this.
Currently searching for the other 2009 bicentennials. I'll look around my school for some, I doubt anything rare will be on the ground, but I may as well look.

Creative approach. Ziploc ® or similar brand bags should be safe.

Thought that since I'm at school a lot I may as well see if others have old coins I could buy from them. Maybe I'll find something great. Still working on filling up the State Quarters.

Classmate offered to sell a "big bag of coins" tomorrow that might include foreign coins and non tender tokens for private businesses alongside US coins. Will update on what I find. Hoping to knock out some late 1800s-1950s coins. Also went roll hunting yesterday for nickels, no buffalos or War Nickels though.

Sadly, he forgot it but agreed to try again on Monday. For now I'll just look for coins on the ground and try getting change from vending machines.
