Quote: I was told by my counselor to be sure to make my bed EVERY morning You have given the best reason I've ever heard for making your bed. I have never done that. Seriously, never. I figured the only reason to 'make a bed' is if you're expecting company that may see your bedroom, LOL. I'm doing fantastic if I wash dishes, which is beneficial even without expecting company.

(I also NEVER use my dishwashing machine)

I am a firm believer that there is value, especially for people who are no longer in the routine of the work-force, to have routines. That may be making your bed every day, or combing your pet, or tending to a garden. Routine is essential when the workaday world is in the rear view mirror.
I never including bed making in my routine, but more power to you, Dearborn. :-) I think my senior kitty, who loves to sleep all day on my bed, would be lost if I did that, heh!

You'll be fine Dearborn - it took me awhile to figure out that I could afford everything and then some and actually stopped worrying and started enjoying life. Actually I was better off than I was when I was working. You'll know when you finally started getting used to retirement when you wake up in the morning and have to look at your phone to see what day it is..............

I dont think I will have hard time filling my days when I retire. I just have to endure 15 years of work.

Hey Dearborn I've been reading about your situation and it seems like despite all that's transpired you've got a positive attitude and are figuring it out for yourself with lots of great input from folks. No doubt in my mind that you're going to come out a winner. From what I've seen you're always a big help to folks on here. Wishing you good luck.
