The 2009 P nickels bottom is dropping out, now you can get them for $15.00 free shipping [eBayItem]160345085310[/eBayItem] Still way too high for me. They sold for $50.00 and $60.00 a piece a few weeks ago. Ouch! I can wait to cherry pick a MS67 for a couple bucks with the actual image of the coin I am getting in an auction.

Well tonight I can buy ( and so can you ) 2009 P nickels shipped for 7 bucks but the quality is too low and the price is too high yet. [eBayItem]160345797356[/eBayItem] [eBayItem]160345797547[/eBayItem] [eBayItem]160345786974[/eBayItem] [eBayItem]160345786679[/eBayItem] I think that the sellers are picking over the rolls at this point and getting the most they can out of the clunkers in the rolls and hanging onto the higher MS coins. What will they be in a week or two? Patience Patience Patience

Wouldn't it be a hoot to find a full box of 2009 nickels? Then you could sell each coin for $15 each or $600 for a roll or all 50 rolls for $30,000!

Just do not sell them all at one time and saturate the market. Spread them out a bit!

I am almost tempted to ask the seller to hand pick me the best one he can find and pay him the 7 bucks but I still feel they are priced about $3.00 too high.

You need to look back to 1956 to get a similar mintage, so adding the attrition factor, the 1956 is today far scarcer in BU, yet book value is only $1.00 in MS-65. We need to remember that, and keep things in perspective. These new coins a very very scarce....today. Tomorrow they will just be a interesting story to talk about. The year new Nickel's were selling for over $100.00 on ebay. In time these coins will be available in change and at banks. I think it's time to be patient and wait it out. Even at $7.00 with free shipping, it's still way overpriced. ~ Jim

I am from PA but spend part of my winters in south Texas.
Last winter every coin I got at the stores and banks seemed to be 2008 pennies, dimes and nickels so I hope this winter will be 2009 pennies, dimes and nickels if they are as many in rolls as last year I will have enough to give anyone some that wants some. Seemed like the rolls from the bank were 3/4 2008 new coins sure hope this year is the same.
