1982-D Quarter Possible Doubled Die Obverse / DDO Or Just Unusual PMD?

coinnoob13 New Member United States 23 Posts	Posted 02/24/2026 2:08 pm right before the 'E' almost looks like ghost of an "L" but no other lettering apparent. Probably just my imagination but thought I'd ask as I'm still learning... Also this seems to be really good shape for circulated better/sharper detail than on a bunch of ms66+ I've seen... I'm always confused about this... I get the whole MS thing, but what about coins that have better detailing than MS-rated but are circulated? thanks for your patience! Report this Post to the Staff

The obverse die that struck your coin was wearing out. There's also a scratch near the E in Liberty. Errers and Varietys.
