@stev, first welcome to CCF. Second, it sounds like you are worried about that small depression being a casting bubble. It might be, although I would generally expect more bubbles if there was this one. It could also be mechanical damage. If you could please post a few pictures of the edge of the coin, we could look for further evidence of how this coin was manufactured: cast vs. struck. Thx.

That coin is fine and there is no real reason to question it. You can find all sorts of flan issues on ancient coins.

This coin sold in auction in Nov 2025 for $1,068 and I don't believe that it has appreciated in value to the current price of $1,927.86

The coin looks fine to me but I am no expert, only had two examples of this type pass through my hands.

Thanks Victor,

I would love to find another coin of this quality with almost full helmet plume, nose and general balance that is cheaper for sure. Being a Noob I am open to all guidance on where to look. I have been searching MA shops and V coin to no avail.

In today's market, to find the coin you want in the condition you want, you almost always have to pay more than you expected.
Especially for highly sought after types like this one.
Good luck!
