Marv65 Bedrock of the Community United States 10601 Posts	Posted 03/13/2026 02:29 am This is actually pretty neat - this cent shows 2 different directions of metal flow and Die Deterioration. The metal flow starts in the middle of the N - you can see how the metal flows towards the rim as it fills the wheat stalk and the actual rim itself, then the metal flows the opposite way as the metal is draw slightly over then up into the area that forms the bust on the obverse. If it wasn't for the reverse die being so fatigued accounting for the 2 pre Cud areas, you would never see that. Report this Post to the Staff
