Though the penny is not being made for circulation anymore, I do not see how we will eventually become a cashless society. Maybe in 100 years, perhaps, but not any time soon.

It is easy to see how it will happen eventually if you consider all data.

Lamplighters and street sweepers did not see their end coming, either.

But I admit, it might not happen if our lifetimes.

I would submit that those are mere professions, as opposed to the lifeblood of American commerce.

While we're on the subject, we've only been talking about US coinage. Do you think the entire world will eventually become cashless?

Yes, but it will take time. I believe those who trade in US dollars will move in lock-step with us. I would guess it would be several generations before that happens. Probably after the AI Robot Overlords take absolute power.
