Awesome! I love the die gouged Morgans. This one reminds me of the 1880-O VAM-48 / Hangnail. Add to it that this is a high-dollar example regardless of the variety.

Looks like the reverse die took a couple serious hits. With such obvious marks on the eagle I'd expect a VAM number would have been assigned. Anyone know whether that's the case? I didn't see a match on VAMWorld.
excellent set of die gouges. there are more gouges under the talons of the ri9ght foot of the eagle. Do you see any doubled wreath on the left side too?
