I have been fighting a sudden onset of some unknown illness starting last Friday (3/20). She was great all morning that day, then by late afternoon, she was losing energy didn't want tot eat dinner (which is WAY unlike her) and haven't eaten much since then. already had 3 vet visits and 1 ER visit, got her on antibiotic meds, did some blood work (which was fairly normal) She is currently in the dog hospital getting tested for valley fever and other insect possibilities. Currently on an IV for fluids and the other stuff they put in in the IV sloution. She has maintaining a fever of 105 to 107, but with me partially submerging her in my pool then in the walk-in shower stall to lay down I have a fan blowing on her seems to bring it down to a normal of 101. She is only 7 years old and I'm not ready to let her go.

Thanks mcshilling and Hoki!
I hope so too, I had to leave her at the vet all day for IV fluids, I'll pick her up in about 2 hours from now.
Hard for me to think straight - I just wander around hoping for the best turn-out.
even having a hard time just posting here, but I'm trying - it keeps my mind off it briefly.

Sending get well wishes and good vibes your way. 7 years old is not that old for a German Shepherd. That's a good thing, gives recovery a much better chance... I hope they figure it out quickly.

That's terrible! Dogs become such a part of your life. Prayers that yours gets better, and that the docs figure out the cause.

thanks everyone.
She came home today with a temp of 100.7 (F) which is normal. but not out of the woods yet - she ate dinner tonight, which is good, but the vet did lots of tests that we have to wait to see what they say.
What we are doing right now is simply treating the symptoms and not the cause yet. Keeping her temp under 103-104 is crucial to avoiding brain and internal organ disfunction.
but I'm more hopeful now, than I was last night.
so far I've spent about 1,000 coin credits for her care and worth every penny too.

This was her yesterday - trying to bring down the high fever, I covered her in a wet towel and set a fan to blow on here. She wouldn't even move to get it off here either. and this is her today after getting home from a day at the Vet. you can see her 2 IV sites they needed to use
