Quote: She came home today with a temp of 100.7 (F) which is normal. but not out of the woods yet - she ate dinner tonight, Fantastic! Temp is great and as long as she's eating and drinking to keep hydrated that's perfect..................

thanks everyone - a temp taken this morning was at just over 100 again! I'm so pleased - so hopefully we can figure out what caused it...

Oh, let's hope that whatever it was has fully passed. That's one big beautiful Shepard you have there, Dearborn!

Excellent new, Dearborn! Hopefully the cause will be found and that it's easily preventable and treatable so that the two of you don't have to go through this again.

You and your pup are in our prayers. Their love for us and ours for them is real. They are family. We are praying for her full recovery and for the veterinarians to have wisdom and insight into the cause and cure.

last night we had a minor setback, at dinner time she had no desire to eat anything and started vomiting, I let her outside to finish the vomiting While I cleaned up the mess in the house. After the vomiting, she had a rather large BM - I checked her temp at 101.6 (normal) So today, I checked the temp - still normal, but she was much more responsive to me and her surroundings. She ate a little bit several times (only gave her a little bit each time. ) I'm thinking that her plumbing was super backed up, but that is just me being hopeful - still waiting on some test results next week, maybe an ultra-sound test on Tuesday.

Several years ago, our big guy started having constipation issues, and the vet told us to do a diet change. We started serving baked chicken breasts cut into tiny pieces, mixed with rice and canned pumpkin. One half chicken breast was enough to cover a couple meals, along with a generous amount of rice and pumpkin. A can of the pumpkin lasted a couple days.
This should definitely be a question to ask your veterinarians before trying, but it's just a thought.
If you do this, it's vital to make sure there aren't any fragments of bones in the chicken. I remember tearing every little piece of chicken by hand to find and get rid of bone fragments.
Know that we remain in prayer for you all. Hang in there!
