Bought this 1953 proof set at an auction, all I want is the Franklin half dollar for my franklin proof collection. So do I keep the rest or sell and recover some of my money? I don`t sell on ebay, what would be the best way to sell them?

Too late now but why not just buy the 1 Franklin you needed? Just sell the rest of the coins, if you have no desire for them, Win - Win!

With ten more posts, you can sell them here. 1953 proofs are a nice series and may pique some interests.

Selling coins on a Coin forum is tough - limited audience, people that are on the forums usually know what everything is valued at and will only buy if they can get a bargain.......

You wouldn't pay much less for a good 1953 Proof Franklin than the $100 marked on that envelope. Assuming that's the price paid for the set, it was a good deal. Selling the other coins should be easy.

I have bought from CCF members many times and have been very happy with the experience. Offering here cost you nothing but time. There is no reason to not try selling here first.

jbuck I concur. I too have made a number of purchases via the forum at a price fair for both parties. In addition, in contrast to ebay, the seller does not pay 13% or so to the platform.

If you opt to list them here I'd be very interested for a fair price. I've got every U.S. proof set in the OGP back to 1954, and would concider this one despite missing the half. That aside, seeing only the half and quarter it appears you scored a lovely set!

1953 is a very desirable year, you'll have no problem selling the rest of the coins.
