I've started posting my quarter finds in the Roll Hunting section, but thought this one worthy of being here. Originally listed as a DDO, on both Wexler and VV, Wexler now states that it is actually the result of a die clash (VV has not made that distinction) Hopefully I'll find one in the future which shows more clashes. https://www.doubleddie.com/186322.h...%20replaced. http://www.varietyvista.com/09c%20W...01P%20NC.htm However, the 2001P Rhode Island quarter has a very similar anomaly, but is still considered a DDO . Perhaps the Rhode Island quarter actually used the obverse die from the N.C. quarter. Plausible in my mind, because the N.C quarter was released in March, and the R.I. quarter was released in May https://www.doubleddie.com/566176.h...None%20known
Now the fun stuff: What's up with IGWT? Looks very fat and most letters have ragged edges. Thoughts? Thank You!
I initially considered these NC quarters to be die clashes and brandmeister sent me a few coins to examine and make that determination. Here compiled a few threads discussing that here: https://goccf.com/t/473234
2001-P 25¢ RI WDDO-001 could be a die clash as well but I haven't seen an example one in-hand.
