Hello. I have just recently joined your community and have enjoyed reading a lot of interesting posts. I just today reached a milestone in my collection that I am excited to share. I started collecting when I was 6 years old in 1956, so been collecting coins for 70 years now. My collection is really a collection of collections, with collections inherited from a great Aunt and Grandpa and mine. It is a pretty extensive collection in whole. Pennies have always been my passion. Just because that is where it all started. I have been working on completing the Indians. Yesterday, I purchased the last 2 Indian Head cents, 1871 and 1872, both in PCGS F15 to complete the entire FE/Indian run. 1857 to 1909. All dates and mint marks with most major varieties. All F12 or better, except the 1877 PCGS VG10. The set averages at 20.15 My Lincolns are complete from 1909 to 2025 with all dates, mm, and major varieties. 1929 up in 65R, with 1936-1942 and 1950 to 2025 proofs So, the best part is that those 2 Indians complete the entire US mintage run of small cents. It only took 70 years, with 3 of us collecting. I am very proud of it. I just purchased a nice scope/camera and intend to make a digital photo catalogue of the entire collection, starting with the small cents, as soon as I figure it all out. Hi-tech and 76 don't mix too well. |
