Hi all, the pictures don't do this one justice. It may look like post mint damage, but who ever/ whatever did it did pretty good around the queens ear. Being the highest point of this coin other than that, both sides seem very smooth, almost too smooth.

Thoughts on this? Read there are many error varieties for this year.

So, you're saying the brown/red around is perhaps rust? Or is there supposed to be copper in the dime?

That dime is multiplated with a steel core and a thin layer of copper and nickel.
Yours has the nickel worn off exposing the copper underneath.
Just a damaged dime worth 10 cents
