Greeting and Salutations,

I have a 1996 P US Dime with the part of the back side missing. It is very odd. Images included. I am hoping to find some information on this dime. How could this happen, is it a error in stamping or..? Might it be worth anything...,

Thank you kindly,

To CCF! Unfortunately it's not. It's been damaged post mint ( PMD). If it was truly a Missing Clad error, the whole side would be the same color. The reverse would have no cladding at all. Worth 10 cents. https://www.pcgs.com/news/missing-c...-error-coins

Sorry, but that is just damage. It was stuck in some kind of rotational mechanism.

The lack of rims on the reverse indicates that it has been
worn down mechanically. Just a damaged dime now.

An interesting example of post-strike damage. Might be fun to keep as a curiosity.

Yes the reverse is missing the cladding (well the outside perimeter of it anyway, but I was sanded or ground off after it left the mint. Just damaged now.
