Found this 1982D LMC 3.1g today.
Looks like a match for VV's RPM001.

Unfortunately I do not believe that this is an RPM. Yours does not show the extra horizontal bar directly above the mm. It's just a standard mm. Nice job on the position comparison. It does appear to be close the same location.

I agree. Not seeing the RPM to the North of the mint mark.

No, this is a damaged mintmark punch. Most of the 1982-D cents will have this.
