Here is a coin that I sold. It was snapped up shortly after listing.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/198337530442

Of course, they are trying to return it.

Complaints.

1. There was no mention of the Snow sticker being added.

2. I advertised the coin as a "NICE Med Brown!" And they claim NGC says it's a "Standard Brown".

The photo below was their proof of the Med Brown discrepancy. Notice the underline they added to point it out.

I don't understand the reason for this post.

Do you have a question? Or are you just telling us about this transaction?

Just a confused rant.

Do you offer seller-paid returns or buyer-paid returns? My first instinct is that's something a buyer would say when attempting to push a buyer-paid return back onto the seller.

Sounds like "Buyer's Remorse" and they are fishing for excuses for the refund.

This is a big part of the why I take forever to find and buy something on ebay. I do not want to ever have to hassle a seller for a refund.

We are a no-return-accepted seller. Of course, if we had neglected anything, we would do whatever it took to make things right.

We had just listed this coin, and another buyer contacted me about it, along with another snow-19 that I have listed. I sent him an offer on both coins. I feel my problem buyer opened the Ad and saw there was a current offer on the table for someone else, then went straight to the purchase button without reading anything else.

Maybe the "open offer" "in cart" thing that buyers see when they first open an Ad is causing them to impulse buy without reading a thing, until they receive the item.

I also wish ebay would integrate some pop-ups for new buyers. Alerting them to return options, asking if they read the Ad entirely and understood everything. Have them click OK before they can proceed to a purchase.

People are required to read the Terms & Conditions when opening an account. If they didn't read the fine print, then they aren't going to read a pop-up box, either. At some point, you throw in the towel to idiot-proofing the world, and just cover your own tookus legally.

It does sound that way. I have had some suspect dealings lately that are well outside the norm.

Last night, as I was lying in bed, I got the alert that someone had made a purchase on ebay.

This morning I took a look to see who made the purchase.

The buyer - "Member since: May 13, 2026" - and of course 0 history. PO Box address in Maine. And they come straight to me to buy something?

I sent a message to them early this morning to feel them out; no reply. I sent another a couple of hours ago, no reply.

No, I'm not going to send them my coin.

It looks like the final review on these returns is just a rubber-stamp by AI in the buyer's favor. You won't get any rational thinking by a human, or maybe some common sense to sniff out a rat.

I had 2 emails this morning, both with a 10:20 am timestamp.

The first was about the final review case being opened, and this review could take up to 48 hours.

The second email stated that the review was complete, the case was closed, and the buyer was returning the item.

That seemed like a really quick review, so I asked for a rep to call me.

When the rep called, I asked whether he was the person who reviewed the case and made the final decision. He said no.

I then asked if the person who reviewed the case was available, so I could speak with them and find out what I did wrong. He said it is such a big place that we don't know who did it.

I then asked whether the person left any notes on what I did wrong, so I could improve moving forward. He sat silent for about 5 seconds, then said that there were no notes.

I then brought up the 2 emails sent at 10:20 am and asked how a human could review a case that quickly and make a fair decision. He started stuttering, so I quickly asked him if AI is doing that job. He said hold please.

I hung up after about 15 minutes.

I did not know I had this.

This is his final plea to AI Judy on what I did wrong for him to deserve a return.

The case opened
"Listing title explicitly advertised a premium variety ("Snow-19"), but the item delivered is a standard NGC slab lacking that official attribution with a fake sticker. In ebay messages, the seller admitted to adding a sticker to the certified holder and falsely claimed NGC doesn't attribute Snow varieties (NGC VarietyPlus does). The seller used an unverified claim to inflate price by $80+. This is a clear case of Item Not As Described. I am requesting a full return and refund immediately. Thank you - xxxxxx""

The only thing I told him about the Snow-19 is that NGC does not recognize it, so it would never be on the holder. And that NGC only recognizes the Snow varieties from the CPG.

Of course, when he mentions that I admitted to adding the snow sticker in ebay messaging, he fails to mention that I also admitted to adding the sticker 4 times in the ad.

This just shows the level of turkey I have been dealing with.
