William Bradford

The obverse of the Landing of the Pilgrim half dollars featured a portrait of William Bradford. Bradford served multiple, non-consecutive terms as the Governor of the Plymouth Colony between 1621 and 1657.

William Bibb and Thomas E. Kilby

The obverse of the Alabama Statehood Centennial coin presents the conjoined portraits of William Bibb (December 1819 to July 1820) and Thomas E. Kilby (January 1919 to January 1923) - the first and then-current Alabama Governor, respectively. Bibb also served as the only Governor of the Alabama Territory (March 1817 to December 1819).

James Monroe

The 1923 Monroe Doctrine Enunciation Centennial Half Dollar features conjoined portraits of James Monroe and John Quincy Adams. Monroe served as the Governor of Virginia for two non-consecutive terms: December 1799 to December 1802 and January 1811 to April 1811). Monroe served as the 5th President of the United States, serving from March 1817 to March 1825.

Calvin Coolidge

Calvin Coolidge followed his time as the Mayor of Northampton, Massachusetts (January 1910 to January 1912) by serving as the Governor of Massachusetts from 1919 to 1921. He went on to become the 30th US President in 1923. The conjoined portraits of George Washington (First US President) and Calvin Coolidge (then-current US President) are presented on the obverse of the 1926 American Independence Sesquicentennial Half Dollar.

Sam Houston

Sam Houston was the 7th Governor of Texas, serving from December 1859 to March 1861 - he was pushed out of office in conjunction with Texas seceding from the Union and joining the Confederate States of America in February 1861 at the start of the US Civil War. He appears on the reverse of the Texas Independence Centennial half dollar.

Thomas Dongan

Thomas Dongan, Governor of the Province of New York in 1686, is depicted on the 1936 Albany Charter 250th Anniversary Half Dollar presenting the Albany Charter to Peter Schuyler, the Head of the Commissioners for Indian Affairs in the area (he is depicted holding the Charter); and Robert Livingston, who was the Secretary for Indian Affairs.

Joseph T. Robinson

The second type of the Arkansas Statehood Centennial half dollar features a portrait of Joseph Taylor Robinson on its reverse. Robinson served as the Governor of Arkansas from January 1913, to March 1913.

Roger Williams was the President/Governor of the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations from 1654 to 1657; he appears on the 1936 Providence, Rhode Island Tercentenary Half Dollar.
