Finally! Got An 1859 $3 Gold I've Been After!

These can be very tough to find without distracting marks, properly graded, and a less than halfway decent strike.

I admit that this does not have a fantastic strike as evident by the hair and wreath (although this strike is better than a good chunk of the available pieces), at least the date is strong. The photo does show some marks that show up much more prevalently in a photo than in hand. Honestly, this is one of my better and nicer looking $3. These things come messed up in all kinds of ways in good holders. Often there's a big hit on the face or noticeable scratch in the field or something else. I've been literally looking for years for one like this. Of course, I overpaid a bit, but such is life.

Some of what you see on the reverse is actually a nice die clash.
