Found this one yesterday. Have absolutely no idea why the area around the eyes looks like it does. Actually has a small spot to the left of Jefferson's cheek which is the same, I just couldn't get a good pic of it.
Has a mirror finish and is flat - almost like it was filled in - I soaked it in acetone last night, just to make sure it wasn't.
(Sorry, the glare on this made it hard to get a good full-coin shot)
Thoughts?

It is caused by an overpolished die that has taken away some details in and around the Eye further blank areas can also be seen to the right side of Jeff's Forehead ( left of the viewer)
It is a good one and definitely a keeper.

Wow!
I've never seen an over polished die which didn't have any scratch marks!
This literally looks like someone poured some sort of self leveling liquid in there.
But I agree - definitely a keeper
