Well., OK here are the requisite obverse reverse shots:

On closeup this anomaly appears on Lincoln's shoulder on the obverse. I tried pricking it with a porcupine quill. It does protrude just enough to ping the quill.

The closeup of the reverse holds even more of my interest. Let me tell you what I see then, more experienced eyes might tell me what they see. This also pings the quill long the Impression area that looks like a coin rim. Scale reads 3.116

Here I see an embedded coin fragment, possibly chopped up nickel (Heaven forbid! ) with a fairly prominent "U" and a hard to overlook "M" along the pseudo- rim - not a mirror image of a coin face and not a Lincoln Penny. I'd appreciate any and all analyses and advice.

Know that I am grateful for your time.

Looks like glue. It should come off with a soak in acetone.

Please post 'after' photos if you pursue an acetone treatment. Thanks!

I'm all out of acetone; gotta get some tomorrow (Memorial Day). I'll soak (perhaps not-so-honest Abe) for 24 hours and send after soak pictures. Thanks for joining me in the adventure. Hard for me to believe, but, I might just learn something!

I can clearly see the reverse image of TRUST, it's glue of some kind (mind you acetone won't remove everything) If mine I would just roll it up or spend it.

You are correct, they were conjoined but with the aid of a sticky clear substance like Glue. You can spend it.
And don't waste money on buying Acetone for this .

Well..., Having been swiftly kicked in the right spot, The base root of the reversed "R" no longer looks like an "M" And the reversed word "TRUST" now seems stark to these eyes. Next time I sit to play. I'll poke around inside the impressions with my porcupine quill. I'm pretty sure I'll find them to be incuse.

You all convince me not to waste gas on a special trip, but I'll get some acetone next time I'm out there. Then I'll do the soak, and post the pics because I think you're right and you're entitled to see my results. This species of adventure is my idea of fun.
