I decided to sell my collection of 60 commemorative dollars to a refiner for Spot x 90% x 80% which works out to about $57 each

I'm going to use that money to buy Silver Eagle Bullion to use in trade toward one of the older Gold Eagles I want for my collection once silver to gold ration gets a little better

I used to like these but they lost their appeal once I started to collect Silver and Gold Eagles

Some of those are really cool! Oh well, you gotta do what ya gotta do. My ASE addition lead me to sell all my Centennial gold commems. I did purchase the dime again after awhile and gold was down a tinch.

Oh darn, looks like the top coins on those stacks were on my want list. But I get it, unfortunately my modern commemorative dollar type set is just bullion these days. I still enjoy it enough to keep going, although my buying has definitely slowed down in 2026. Thankfully dealers consider most dates as nothing more than bullion, so many premiums have vanished.

This wasn't something I had to do, it was a strategic recycling of part of my collection that I was no longer interested in.

Originally I was just going to hold them until silver hit $150, but the last time silver was high, I easily sold my Silver Eagles but no one was interested in junk silver.

This place offered a very good price and all of my local shops are selling eagles at spot.

If I buy the two older Gold Eagles that I want for my type collection before silver hits $150 I just hold then until then.

Maybe you could have offered to trade them to some one here for some silver eagles?

I put them if the For Sale forum and didn't get a single reply.

Lots of people read the topic but no one replied

I would have been open to trades but I don't know if it would have been acceptable to post that info in any forum other than the For Sale forum.

A link to your sales or trade posts in your signature can be helpful.
