Hello,

Can someone tell me how this happens? Because Its flat like a regular dime. If its on the ground its impossible for other areas in the center not to be scratched. Can someone else recreate this to show me it's PMD? Does not looks like its sanded either. So can someone tell me please!

100% PMD. Someone might have used a hammer to hit the sides. It's not an error. Who knows. Doesn't really matter what happened to it, since damage is damage. A spender.

If you haven't yet, study the minting process and do research on error-ref.com.

"DON'T turn the garbage disposal on - I accidently dropped a dime in it"!

"Sorry, I couldn't hear you - what did you say"?

The minting process is a fairly straight forward manufacturing procedure with all steps known and well documented. Once a coin leaves the dies the number of things that can happen are absolutely endless. It's much easier to ask, " is there any way this can happen in the minting process", rule that out and it's some sort of post mint damage.

Post strike damage of a blunt force nature. The dime didn't leave the striking chamber in that condition.
