Here is a coin I found. It was in a can from my Mothers garage that I received when She passed away. Having little place to store it, the contain remain outdoors for several years. On day trying to get rid of excess in the yard, I looked through it and found this and some other nick knacks. Growing up in Iowa meant a lot and now older it makes me think back. She never mentioned the coin, so I was glad I checked closely before throughing the container away.

This is my oldest and favorite piece. I acquired this 2 years ago when I first started collecting at 14.It is an 1830 Bust Half that I purchased from a rather impatient person that become anxious to leave as I was sorting their collection. To hurry me along she shook a little box filled with crusty IHC's and junk silver in my face and said how about $6.00? I took the chance and to my surprise found this at the bottom!

I thinks it's cool that at the same time this was minted and just entering circulation the following was taking place:

Sam Colt patented his revolver
Arkansas became the 25th State

And my favorite the Alamo was taking place right then! Think of the places and faces this coin could have seen.

gotcha coop and coins92 LAST ENTRY ... no more entries allowed. I believe we have 11 and 12 in LISTS A & B

Look at both LISTS for your favorite and vote ONCE
I reserve the right to disqualify any votes I think are bogus.
Be careful you vote on the same line for your choice. It can be a tight squeeze to be on the check box.

Read em and vote for 1 ONLY post VOTED below in poll. Thanks everyone for the great entries.

If "view results" before voting precludes voting, then a bunch of us won't be able to vote. :-)

I am aware of this, ...... now
Wish I had known. What I am going to do is shut down the polls and then have everyone post from here and add them up. I apologize, I did not know I would run into this. It was a hassle figuring that out and I am disappointed.

I'll fix it up and notify those who have voted. I have a PLAN B
