Ive seen a lot of Russian coins from this era but I've never seen nothing like it.Obviously been used as jewelery piece.Sorry for poor quality of pics.Made of brass.Weight and diameter unknown.Token maybe?

I know I've seen something like this for sale, but in gold. Also had Franz Ioseph's bust + general Austrian ducat design + Russian legends. However it was since sold and now the info is not available  |

I've heard that Russian made gold coins very similar to Franz Ioseph's ducats - with bust of Russian Emperor, but with normal our letters (not in cyrillic). valdiman, did you buy this coin on Allegro, or You just ask about it because you want to know something new?  PS. Here it is -> Here |

It appears to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the reign of Alexander II. Not sure because I cannot see the legends.

The name Messingov Pendar, which is similar to revers, was mentioned on the one russian auction (unfortunately already put into archive) and it had some relation to "anti-propaganda coin". I really have no clue what it means. For example the word "íàêèòü" which is also on reverse side, I cannot even find in russian dictionary. It is only mentioned in some web pages as equivalent to the expression "òþðåìíàÿ àðèñòîêðàòèÿ". Maybe some Coin Community member from Russia could help.

I am sorry, I was using russian alphabets and it is not readable after posting. I will change these words to phonetical format now:

This might help you some. To make sure you have the correct spelling and letters. ÌÅÑÈÍÒÎÂÜ ÏÅÍÄÀÐÜ ÈËÈ Ï¨ÍÄÀÐÜ-Mesintov Pendar or Pandar. Not sure about the E? I am near 100% sure it is E for Pendar for it fits the saying. (Za Nasits-For Capital or Capitalist). Does any of this give you an idea of the saying? Lot of Russian coins of that era used K for Æ, and they used funny Y or open top 8 for U. There are a few other letters also that vary from era to era, can not remember them all unless I see them. Hopefully this has helped. I have also forgotten the site is only in English. If you want to PM me I will send you the spelling and words in Russian. Thank you for the lesson. I am into the Russian, Prussian and Europe from late 20th century and back. So I have also learned something today. Now I have found two more coins I want to add to my collection after looking at history on the inscription on this coin  Edited by zakota

Just an observation: I have not seen any russian coin from this time having eagle with sword.

You are correct Josef, it is Austrian. The sword, two crowns and coat of arms points to where it is from. there are Austrian coins and medals with crylic. That is Austrian medal.
