I wrote him to say I don't feel comfortable buying from him with what happened. His reply "I don't care. I have million buyers out there who are interested get these coins. You won't get it. I have many many coins to sell from good to uncirculated. also In future I will sell gold coins. GOODBYE"

Sweet seller.

Let's scratch off that a few million after that negative.

Do any of you read feedback? I sure do, and if a person has one very recent, I shy away from bidding.

hahaha gold coins... if the spot price jumps after the auction ends I bet he'll say his son wanted it

Guy sounds like a complete smuck not to mention a con-artist. Leave him some nasty feedback for sure. He'll continue to sell on ebay for sure and the more negative feedback he has, the better. Let me see what he has for sale ;-)
This happened to me once when I won an incredible natural rainbow toned Morgan (I mean incredible!) for $26. The guy wrote me back and said it has already been sold and he doesn't have it any more. Yeah, right. This guy was a complete, well you know, and told me that I am not doing anything about it and either is ebay. See, it's real simple. All ebay has to do is offer one warning and then the second time, their history. They might sneak back in with another name and such but, these folks can't contain themselves and will be unethical once again because that's just who they are.

still say, as ebay also does, You and the other party entered into a legal contract that both parties must fulfill....
what would happen if YOU would not have paid? lats assume that with another seller... just assume you changed your mind to pay for it because you have found out the price you bid and won it at is toooooo high?
What will the seller do ?
and what will ebay do?
Persdonally I think something is missing in the story.. No offense meant... but usually ebay and PAYPAL come down hard when called on in such situations.
I am not an ebay friend, but perhaps ebay procedures were not followed by the buyer?

So if I bid on the coin and at the end of the auction I payed for it, WHAT else am I suppose to do that you question my procedures? He thanked me for my payment in one e-mail and then in another asked me to agree on canceling the transaction. Maybe you missed some of the story.

To offer something for sale, then change your mind at the last minute is just plain shady to me.

All sorts of ways to get downright dirty on ebay. I wont go into detail as it is just plain nasty.

The higher ground is just to ignore him and move on. Your feedback is the Jolly Roger for others who think of bidding on higher end items.

Be at least happy you paid via paypal and if push came to shove they would enforce a refund. Many are not so lucky.
