Null and Void since I was wrong see newest guess.
I think that you are flying to an international code breakers convention and you are the pilot.
I don't know where they have these events but I'll guess it is in WASHINGTON DC right about now.

Hint # 6: Wheezydog is correct in one aspect. This location is not what most people would consider a vacation spot.
