coins are like boats and cars, no matter what they look like they are women to me. Either way I have never seen anything like this in my pocket change so I thought it was pretty cool. I didn't use any editing software to bring out the colors, all I did was resize the original. I usually have to adjust some settings to make it look like it does in hand but not with this one. Usually toning will come off with the friction of being carried around in the pocket and that is why this caught my eye as I was dropping my change in the change jug

I must be stupid. All these coins look damaged to me. Can someone tell me what I am missing?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder lincolncentguy. Some of these toned coins take 50+ years to get to where they are. It's like the patina on a copper roof or statue. It gives the coin character to some people. Others just see damage, no ones wrong or mentally handicapped(PC).

Nice toners everyone! Pretty cool that you can find them in change from time to time.

Here are my only two toned coins, other than a LMC, but I can't capture the toning with my camera. 1955 Roosevelt - PCGS MS-64 1955-S Roosevelt - PCGS MS-64

What is exactly is a toned coin? I found one roll searching last night and put it into the Return pile. Should I have kept it? What causes the toning?

This is a 1954 S/D Jefferson I have listed in "Buy It Now", it has a golden tone with some diagonal "streaks" ; (Note to self)I need to capture the reverse, other than the Mint Marks.
